Hello all,  this post is to help answer the questions about the current Season 21 PCT Final qualification rules

All players that earn their Season 21 PCT Final Invitation will be eligible to compete in the $40,000 Bar Poker Open National Championship, held 12/6-12/8 at Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ. This championship event is NOT open to the public.  Random players cannot buy into this event.  You must earn your invitation to compete in the National Championship event.

Click to view details about the Bar Poker Open and the National Championship tournament structure.

Considering some of our players will have earned their invitation through multiple venues / qualifying possibilities, this post will clarify how we will address the application of the invitations to the players and how that will effect subsequent qualification options.  The clarification below is not a "change" to the qualifying rules.  It is simply a deeper explanation of "how and why" the invitations will be applied as they are.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
VENUE LEADERS
First, Riverchasers will take all the VENUE LEADERS from each venue and add them to the PCT Finalist list with a "1st Place / 1 Point" credit to their account.  The membership level of the venue (Gold/Platinum/Titanium) will determine whether we provide 1, 2, or 3 invitations to the Venue Leaders from each venue.  Some players may be venue leader at multiple venues.  If that is the case, you will see the player with multiple "1st Places" and multiple points.  Having multipe points does not award any additional incentive/bonus, it is just our way of tracking the players.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TOP 21 OVERALL
Second, we will take the Top 21 players from the PCT Season 21 Leaderboard that ARE NOT also Venue Leaders and add them to the PCT Finalist list with a "2nd Place / 1 Point" credit to their account.  The expansion of the Top 21 to include those below 21st place is being done as our way of ensuring that the top players in the league get their chance to compete in this season's Final.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
VENUE CHAMPIONS
Each venue currently on the schedule that is eligible to host a Season 21 Venue Championship will host it during their regularly weekly scheduled event from 10/19-10/25.  Any additional VC's that are hosted to account for cancelled venues will be listed on the "Venue Championship" page on the website.  Dates, times, and the location of these replacement VC's will be listed there as well.  We cannot guarantee that we can host a VC for every cancelled venue.  We will make every reasonable effort to do so, but again, it is not guaranteed.
We will add Venue Champions to the PCT Finalist list with a "3rd Place / 1 Point" credit to their account on the date he/she wins the VC.
Venue Championship Q&A
Q: Who is eligible to compete in the Venue Championship?
A: The top 15 players at the venue that have not already earned their PCT Final Invitation.
Q: Four of the top 15 players at my venue have already earned their PCT Final Invitation, does this mean that 16, 17, 18, and 19th from my venue are invited to compete in the Venue Championship?
A: No.  The top 15 is the top 15.  The only way 16th place is eligible to play is if he/she is tied in points with 15th place.   We will "cross off" players that are not eligible to compete because they are either Venue Leaders or TOP 21.  Any player that wins a VC on Monday may still be on the list for his local Tuesday venue, but he/she would not be eligible to compete in Tuesday's VC since he/she now has earned the PCT Final Invitation.  His/her name will still be on the printed list because the list is printed ahead of time, but again, he/she will not be eligible to play in the VC.
Q: How many players advance from the Venue Championship to the PCT Final?
A: It depends on the venue's membership level.
1 player will advance from each Gold Venue (the VC winner).
2 players from each Platinum Venue (final 2 players).
3 players from each Titanium venue (Final 3 players)
Q: There will be two events being hosted simultaneously during VC week at each venue, and I am eligible to compete in the VC at my local bar.  If I get knocked out of the VC Early, can I play in the standard game too?
A: NO.  We are very sorry.  Because PCT Season 22 points are being awarded to both the VC and the standard game, and to maintain the integrity of the quality of the VC itself, we will not permit it.  If you'd prefer to play in the standard game instead of the VC, that is your choice.  You do not have to play in the VC just because you qualified for it.
REGIONAL CHAMPIONS
Any Riverchasers player with 100+ points from Season 21 who has not already earned his/her PCT Final Invitation is eligible to compete in a Regional Championship on 11/9.
PLAYERS MUST PRE-REGISTER online to choose the location they wish to compete in their Regional Championship.  We need to do this for host staffing, venue staffing, venue table space, and equipment planning purposes.
This "RESERVE MY SEAT" link will be available on the Regional Championship page once all RC Locations are announced.
The top 25% of each Regional Championship will earn their PCT Final invitation.  We will apply it as a "4th place / 1 point" credit to your account.
