Table Etiquette

Tournament hosts and venue management will attempt to maintain a pleasant environment for all players and members, but are not responsible for the conduct of any player.  We have established a code of conduct, customer etiquette, poker etiquette, and basic rules for all games and events.  Failure to follow the code of conduct may deny you participation into our events.

Players are expected to conduct themselves in a proper and professional manner at all times.  The goal of Riverchasers is to manage a poker league and entertain its players.  Players should keep that in mind as we truly encourage proper poker strategies to be used by participants, we do not condone or promote verbal deception or aggression tactics by any player whatsoever.  In the end, players have the right to play their cards as they wish, as long as it does not impede the proper flow of the event or create a conflict between other players in the game or with the relationship between the venue and Riverchasers.

By participating in Riverchasers hosted events, all players agree to abide by the following rules:

CONDUCT CODE

The following is not permitted:
·       Collusion with another player or any other form of cheating
·       Verbally or physically threatening or assaulting any patron, tournament host, or venue employee
·       Using profanity or obscene language
·       Creating a disturbance by arguing, shouting, or making excessive noise
·       Throwing, tearing, bending, or crumpling cards, chips, or other event related equipment
·       Destroying or defacing property
·       Bringing in outside food or beverage to any event (unless otherwise noted)
·       Saving multiple seats for players whom have not yet arrived at the venue or saving seats for non-specific
players (the tournament tables are not your personal tables for only you and your friends, all open seats
are available to any player that wishes to sit there)

PLAYER and CUSTOMER ETIQUETTE

The following is expected of our players at each event:
·       Understand that we are guests of the hosting venue.  The venue provides you with a friendly
environment to participate in a social poker league.  Your patronage, including the gratuities you
share with their staff, is greatly appreciated.
·       Respect the venue property and the venue staff at all times
·       Provide adequate gratuities for service staff
*If requesting non-alcoholic beverage refills we encourage tipping for each refill*
·       Acknowledge the staff if they ask you a question (a simple 'Yes, Please' and 'No, Thank You' is sufficient)
·       If you have a complaint about a venue, discuss it with the venue management and/or Riverchasers
management.  Complaining about an RC venue at other RC venues is in poor taste and is
detrimental to the league's goals. Let's fix problems, not create more.
·       Contact venue management to report any items that may need their immediate attention
·       If requesting a music, TV channel, or volume change, please understand that there may be other
players or customers in the venue attentive to the current offering.  Staff may not be able to address
immediate changes for various reasons.  Please be patient as they are attempting to entertain everyone
          equally.

POKER and TABLE ETIQUETTE

The following is expected of our players at each event:
·       Be at the table to post your blinds and deal when it is your turn
·       View your surroundings to see if an absent player is on his/her way to the table or is in the vicinity to play
his/her hand before it is mucked
·       Be patient while a player is speaking with a server or bartender while placing an order
·       Clearly communicate your betting actions to the table to remove confusion
·       Place your large denominated chips in front of your chip stacks for players to view

The following actions are improper, and grounds for warning, removal, or suspension:
·       Deliberately acting out of turn
·       Deliberately splashing chips into the pot
·       Verbally agreeing to check a hand down when a third player is all-in (this is a form of collusion)
·       Revealing the contents of a folded hand before the betting is complete. Do not divulge contents of a
hand during a deal, even to someone not in the pot, so you do not leave any possibility of the
information being transmitted to an active player
·       Needlessly stalling the action of a game by choice or by failure to pay attention to the action due to a
personal distraction (phone, music player, game player, etc...)
·       Stacking chips in a manner that interferes with dealing or viewing cards
·       Making statements or taking action that could unfairly influence the course of play, whether or not the
offender is involved in the pot
·       Using a cell phone at the table which delays the action of the hand
·       Rabbit Hunting, aka “running it out”, once a hand is completed is to be kept to a minimum.  In the spirit
of fast and friendly play, we ask that you do not ask to Rabbit Hunt more than once per event.  In all
requests, the final decision will be up to the winner of the hand.
·       Berating or harassing a player based on their playing style or the luck of the cards.

The following is expected to help protect the integrity of the event and keep free poker fair and entertaining:
·       Report suspicious activity at the table or suspected cheating to the tournament host
·       Announcing irregularities in the action
·       Making new players feel welcome
·       Saving one seat for a specific guest is permitted up until five minutes prior to start time
·       Helping educate new players on basic rules in a polite and friendly manner

Ultimately, the decision of venue management and the tournament Host is final.
