 FAQ's Minimize

Q.  What is Riverchasers?
A.  Riverchasers is a company that provides an entertainment service to restaurants, bars, and taverns. We are hired by the venue to host a poker night at their establishment.  We also hold public and private functions and fundraisers.

Q.  What do Player Points get me?
A.  Riverchasers keeps track of the players using Player Points.  Player Points can be earned at each venue by making it far into the tournament.  Points can also be earned at certain times of the year when Riverchasers offers bonus promotions, such as Toys for Tots.  During an advertised qualifying time period, we will invite the top players from each of our areas to a special Tournament of Champions (TOC) with great prizes and the chance to play for even better prizes at professional casino tournaments.  In addition to the TOC there are other, smaller, time periods in which Player Points will earn you an invitation into special tournaments.

Q.  I can't play often enough to make a TOC, what else is there for me?
A.  Our Super Satellite promotions give players the opportunity to come out and play just one time and earn the chance to win great prizes such as buy-ins at casino tournaments and vacation packages.

Q.  Is there any real money being bet?
A.  No, that is gambling and is illegal.  Participants play with chips only.  No side bets are allowed.

Q.  How do I host an event, either at my restaurant or for a private funtion?
A.  Contact our sales department at sales@riverchasers.com

Q.  What can I win?
A.  There are typically prizes offered for the top three players at each event.  Prizes will vary from venue to venue.  Player Points are also earned and depending on the current promotion could lead to more than your basic prizes offered by the venues.

Q.  How do I find venues in my area?
A.  The tour and the website is separated by Region.  You can go to our Interactive Venue Map to find events local to you.  Once you know which Region you are in, you can find specific information about local events and promotions by going to your Region's homepage.

Q.  How often are the Player Rankings updated.
A.  Player Rankings are updated on a weekly basis and are typically 10-14 days behind the current date.

Q.  Why are there different points totals on your website?
A.  Each venue's page shows the point totals for the entire year.  The top player at each venue throughout the calendar year is invited to a special Venue Leader tourmament with excellent prizes.  The Regional Player Rankings pages show the current Tournament of Champions qualifying period's points.  The Total Points Leaderboard shows all players and all points ever earned and is simply used for entertainment purposes.  Additionally, special promotions are offered that qualify players based on a smaller time period of points earned.  These Player Rankings are listed in specific areas and information concerning those rankings can be found on the same page.

Q.  Why do I have to deal the cards?
A.  Hiring dealers at each table would not be cost effective for the venues.

Q.  Who runs the tournaments?
A.  At each Riverchasers event, a Tournament Director (TD) is hired to manage the event.  The TD does not participate in the event and handles the hosting of the tournament from start to finish.

Q.  I played at two different locations and some things were different.  Why?
A.  On the whole, all Riverchasers events are hosted the same.  Sometimes a venue has specific needs and requests that may alter the standard tournament structure or policies.  The Tournament Directors at these events will announce any deviation from the standard procedures prior to the event.

Q.  I see that some players get bonus chips.  How is that fair?
A.  Riverchasers offers a Food Bonus Promotion.  If any player purchases qualifying menu items prior to or during the event, they will receive extra chips to use in the tournament at specific time periods.  Alcohol purchases do not qualify for this promotion.  This would be "enticement" and is illegal.  In order to create a successful event there has to be enough support of the venue by the players.  If the event costs more money to host that it generates in revenue, the event will not be around for too long.

Q.  I have a question that isn't answered here.  Where do I go?
A.  You can go to the Forums and post a question or you can email admin@riverchasers.com.
