The Riverchasers League Championship brings our Live League event winners and our Top Leaderboard players together each season to battle it out on the felt at the phenomenal Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa Poker Room for great cash prizes and the right to be called CHAMPION!

This event is not open to the public. Only qualified players from the Riverchasers Poker Tour are eligible to pre-register and compete.
THREE WAYS TO QUALIFY
SEASON 35: Qualifying Period 10/2/23 - 4/12/24
♠️ TOP 125 - Finish the season in the top 125 ranked players
♠️ WIN & YOU’RE IN - Finish 1st place at one (1) live league event
♠️ VENUE LEADER - Finish the season in 1st place in rankings at any Venue
At the end of the season, an official qualified player list will be posted showing the Qualifying Status of each eligible player.
QUALIFYING STATUS
SINGLE, DOUBLE, AND TRIPLE STATUS
Single Qualifying Status
Players who have earned any one of the three qualification achievements listed above.
Double Qualifying Status
Players who have qualified through any two of the available qualifying achievements listed above.
Triple Qualifying Status
Players who have qualified through all three of the available qualifying achievements listed above, as well as TWO of our elite Riverchasers players, including:
The Points Leader from Season 35
The player with the Most 1st Place wins Season 35
(tie-breaker = higher ranked position)
THE ENTRY FEE WILL VARY BASED ON THE QUALIFYING STATUS, BUT FOR ALL PLAYERS WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Each Bonus Ticket can be used in one of two ways based on the following rules:
10K Rebuy: Use the Bonus Ticket anytime prior to the 1st Break when your chip stack is at or below 10K.
May use Both as Rebuys according to the rules if needed.
20K Add-on: Use the Bonus Ticket during the 1st Break Only. Player MUST HAVE CHIPS IN PLAY to use as an Add-On
May use Both as an Add-On for 40K chips.
All Bonus Tickets must be used by the end of the 1st Break, no exceptions.

BORGATA SPRING POKER OPEN
Will be hosted in May 2024. These events will be open to the public and published on Borgata’s website.
Registration for all public tournaments take place at the Borgata Poker Room. Full rules and details are provided by the host of these tournaments, Borgata, and can be found online and at the casino.

The 2024 installment of the annual Rocket Tournament is here!
What is the Rocket?
The Rocket Tournament is a social poker event hosted at the illustrious Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event is catered towards players of social poker leagues in the area, but is open to the public. In order to properly host this event, it is by invitation-only, and YOU ARE INVITED!
To lock in your seat, you have to pre-register for the tournament using our online registration and payment portal prior to the registration deadline of FEBRUARY 23rd.
Players will be competing for an estimated $20,000-$25,000 in cash and prizes, including Tournament Prizes, Souvenirs, Bonus Prizes, and Bar Poker Open Seats and Full Travel Packages to the upcoming World Championship in Vegas (June 2024).

Tournament Structure
Tournament check-in begins 9:00am on March 9th.
Players required to present a valid (non-expired), government issued photo ID and a Borgata/MGM players card. Players card can be obtained on property the day of the event.
Tournament begins at 11:00am.
Late entry permitted until 12:00pm.

Bradley Canfield wins the Championship
A great day of poker for the 182 competitors on Saturday, December 9th at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. Competing for just under $9,000 in total prizes, this was our largest single championship prize pool in almost 10 years since we converting the league to running seasonal championships instead of annual events.
We are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bradley Canfield (Harrisburg PA) for emerging as the champion of this highly competitive tournament. 182 Chasers took to the felt to make their run for the Trophy, Cash Prize, and the Trip to Viva St Jude in Vegas next year.
The Borgata poker room has always held a special place in the hearts of Riverchasers for the past 18 years as the home of our League Championship events. 2023 Hammer Tournament

The 2023 installment of the annual Hammer Tournament is coming soon, this time with a little modification and a HUGE BONUS PRIZE.
In May of this year, the Poker world lost one it’s iconic faces, Doyle Brunson. In honor of his contribution to the community, we are modifying our Hammer Tournament to instead reward our largest single Bonus Prize in our Hammer Tournament history for the infamous 10-2 poker hand. Players at the tournament will receive the full details on eligibility and the cash bonus for this prize.

Florida 2023 Bar Poker Open: Nov 15-18
Our largest championship in the history of BPO has just completed in Las Vegas and we now have our eyes set on bringing as many Riverchasers as possible to West Palm Beach to enjoy the sunshine and the monster chip stacks. Hundreds of qualified players from around the US will be joining us in Florida to compete for the Championship Trophy. Riverchasers players have already won a full package and multiple Seats to the Florida Championship. Let’s take over the Palm Beach Kennel Club and enjoy a phenomenal poker vacation on the East Coast. Full Details for the championship will be posted soon.
Hammer Tournament: Aug 12
August 12th will be here soon and we will be in Atlantic City at the incredible Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa once again. This year, the Hammer Tournament will be modified to honor the life and legend of Doyle Brunson. Our typical 7-2 bonuses will be replaced by a 10-2 bonus. Registration will be open 6/26-7/26, so grab your poker friends and sign up to be a part of the local & social championship event open to all Bar Poker Open network players and guests.
PCT Season 32 Championship
The postponed Championship is tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, October 7th. We are finalizing the best deal we can with Borgata and MGM to possibly host this event. We are exploring all options to help make this a win-win for our players and Borgata. Hosting special events at the casino typically requires a guaranteed minimum attendance and we want to ensure that all our events are the best they can be for our league and our partners. More info coming in July.
Record Attendances!
Over half a dozen venues are recording the highest attendances right now in the month of June! Some new venues are hitting their largest ever, and some long-time venues are either recording their best attendances post-pandemic, or even the best attendances in the many years with the league. We thank you for the support of the venues as we are still looking to expand our calendar of events to provide more options and opportunities to play. Your support both in patronage of the venue with food/bev spending as well as coming out to the games and bringing new players is paramount in helping rebuild our business post-pandemic. Many venues we speak with are still hesitant on spending money on entertainment but with your support we can show them how valuable it is to bring Riverchasers to their bars!

Red & Black Satellite Final
37 Months and 1 Pandemic later… we are excited to announce our Red & Black Satellite Final is here.
Qualified Players who plan to compete are asked to RSVP (for head-count / staffing / equipment purposes) prior to 4/20/23 using our online RSVP link. The Red & Black Satellite promotion qualifying period was previously hosted from October 2019 through February 2020. The original Satellite Final date was scheduled for March 2020, but without going into too much detail and having to relive it, plans changed.

Tournament Type: NL Hold’em, with Knockout Bonus Re-Entry Special Rules
Starting Stack: 5000 Tournament Chips
Bonus Starting Chips: 1000 Tournament Bonus Chips awarded for 2-3 Seats, 2000 Chips for 4-5 Seats, 3000 Chips for 6-7 Seats, etc…
Blinds will be 20 minutes each.
Knockout Bonus Re-Entry Special Rules
Players who wear either a Red or Black shirt will receive a KO Chip at registration matching their shirt color.
To be eligible, your shirt has to obviously be Red or Black. It can have designs and logos, but it just has to be obvious. Any shirt that is not obviously Red or Black will not qualify for the bonus promotion associated with the Red/Black KO. No exceptions!
EARN RE-ENTRY CHIPS WITH EVERY KO!
KO a player and earn a KO Chip from their stack (if they have one).
If you take their only KO chip, they are eliminated from the tournament.
If they have more than one KO Chip, they will then redeem the remaining KO chips for re-entry Tournament chips based on their value.
Redeeming a KO Chip of the same color shirt will earn a player 3x Big Blinds based on the Current Blind Level.

The Riverchasers League Championship brings our Live League event winners and our Top Leaderboard players together each season to battle it out on the felt at the phenomenal Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa Poker Room.
This Championship event has been developed to take the best of our previous Championship structures and bring them under one event. Not only that, the Borgata is going to make this a weekend to remember!
In addition to the Riverchasers League Championship, Borgata will be hosting a creative-structure daily tournament throughout the 3-day weekend that will be open to the public and we are inviting ALL social poker players to join us for one, or all, of these unique events.
All four events will help Borgata and Riverchasers raise funds to support St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as a $10.00 donation per entry is included in the cost of the tournaments.
With our expected attendances, we hope to raise over $10,000 for the charity!

As with all tournaments hosted at our casino partner property, there is an event fee to cover the cost of the staff and the venue amenities.
Level 1 Players - includes all players who have either won a Live League event during qualifying or have finished the season in the top 100 ranked players. Level 1 Players will have two entry options.
OPTION 1: $60.00 entry fee for 15,000 tournament chips;
includes dealer fee, dealer tip, re-entry/add-on bonus, and charitable donation.
OPTION 2: $90.00 entry fee for 30,000 tournament chips;
includes dealer fee, dealer tip, re-entry/add-on bonus, and charitable donation.
Level 2 Players - includes all players who have BOTH won a Live League event during qualifying AND have finished the season in the top 100 ranked players.
$60.00 entry fee for 30,000 tournament chips;

The reason Level 1 players have two options is that we wanted to ensure that all players in the event have the opportunity to have an equal amount of chips, if they choose that option. The added fee will increase the Prize Pool for all players.
Level 2 players are being awarded the maximum amount of chips automatically as a reward for accomplishing this elite seasonal goal.

A quick history lesson. In December 2020, a plan to upgrade and streamline our Championship events were already in place. In April of 2020 at the end of the current PCT (Players Championship Tournament) qualifying season and at the end of the Satellite Qualifying season, an announcement was scheduled to introduce players to the New League Championship structure, effectively known as The Riverchasers League Championship: Season 33. Then… in March of 2020 our League, and the world, was put into a spin.
Now, just about 3 years later, the live league is re-growing. Venues in our area are rebuilding their entertainment event schedule, staffing at venues is becoming more abundant and efficient, and brand new venues are opening their doors to local customers. We are excited to bring our promotion to these great venues to help boost their sales and bring some fun and excitement through their doors every week.
With the Bar Poker Open World Championship hosting an unprecedented upcoming $100,000 GTD Grand Prize ($400,000 estimated total prize pool) in Las Vegas 2023, now is also the time to launch the Riverchasers League Championship. We can’t wait for Vegas and this HUGE prize pool, BUT, at the same time, we want to make sure that our local players once again can hoist their own Trophy every season.
The League Championship will be hosted locally with the largest local Championship prizes of any Bar League in the Southeast PA and surrounding area. 2022/2023 Championships
The Sun will continue to Rise!
As we climb back from the depths of a 2+ year span of having the live league shut down, regional championships postponed, and our casino partners operating on limited staff, we are excited to roll out our plan for the 2022 and 2023 Riverchasers and Bar Poker Open Poker Seasons.
The first update includes our regional invitational tournament open to all Bar Poker Open affiliated members and their guests, the HAMMER and ROCKET Tournaments. We are actively working with our casino partner to pick our “Welcome Back” event in 2022. The target dates will be in September 2022. Official details will be announced once the date, venue, and prize pool is finalized. Please take note as we “may” have to offer a different style of event as our seating capacities may be limited at the moment. If they are limited, we would modify the event from a freezeout to a re-entry, BUT we would discount the re-entry fees to help keep the FUN-LEVEL HIGH, and the cost-level low. More coming SOON!
Next, Riverchasers Satellite Tournaments and our Players Championship Tournament events are being combined. This was already in the works at the start of 2020 and was going to be announced in April at the end of our PCT Final. In the past, our PCT was our points-based championship event which evolved from our original TOC concept. This event was typically hosted at our casino property and provided our guests a world-class experience for the low cost of the dealer fees. Our Satellite Finals, were setup as the “Win and You’re In” events, offering players a semi-local Championship event every season that reward players with bonuses for winning additional events during the qualifying periods. The new Riverchasers Championship is going to be a combination of the Satellite and the PCT, rewarding players for both winning and climbing the points leaderboards. We want to keep the Championship “local”, but as we continue to expand our league, the term local doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone. So we are working on the best venue which can offer players the best experience for the price.
POSTPONED EVENTS - The Red & Black Satellite, and the previous PCT Season Final are STILL in the works to be hosted. We recently got the “thumbs up” to host a special event at our previous Satellite Final host venue, so we will be working with them to schedule a Day/Time that is best for as many as possible. The PCT Final, again previously hosted at Borgata, is also in the works. Once we have a confirmation that Borgata can host this event, we will reach out to all qualified players to confirm their attendance.
BAR POKER OPEN - 2022/2023 Season
As of this writing, the ink has not dried so we cannot officially announce our new EAST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP Venue, but the word on the street is that the host for the 2022 Fall event will take place in FLORIDA in November 2022. Unfortunately, our previous East Coast Championship partner, Borgata, is not ready just yet to host a major multi-day event with 1000+ players. As in previous years (pre-pandemic) players will begin qualifying for the 2022/2023 Championships now that our Vegas 2022 Championship has completed. All SEATS or PACKAGES won “may” be used at the Fall 2022 East Coast Championship or held on to for the Summer 2023 Vegas National Championship. The East Coast Championship for 2022 may develop into the largest Prize for the East Coast Championship in BPO History. We look forward to being a part of that success and bringing as many Riverchasers as possible for the Chase for the Crown!

2022 is near
As we draw close to the end of 2021, we are grateful for the current venues and the upcoming new games on our schedule this December. Although we will be saying goodbye to some long time Riverchasers venues due to pandemic-related changes in the venues, the outlook on bringing new games to our league in all our markets is a refreshing.
As more games fill the calendar, we are mapping the plan the relaunch of the Riverchasers Championship events. Some players and hosts were aware that in June of 2020, an overhaul and update to the Player of the Month, Players Championship Tournament, and Satellite Finals was coming. Unfortunately, when everything shut down in March 2020, those changes had to get revisited.
The new changes will involve a simplification of the promotions, and overlapping calendars with the Bar Poker Open schedule. If you log into your BarPokerOpen.com dashboard, you have a surplus of information at your fingertips that is directly related to YOU and YOUR status relating to your participation in the events and your rewards. The updates to the Riverchasers promotions will help you easily track your tournament qualification status and details of each Riverchasers promotion as well.
Also, we will unveil the UPDATED Bonus Chip promotions that will allow players to earn MORE BONUS CHIPS at the Live Riverchasers League events.

Vegas is drawing near
In about 6 weeks, dozens of Riverchasers, and hundreds of Bar Poker players from North America will be headed to Las Vegas to compete in our first Live National Championship since the start of the Global Pandemic.
Many East Coast players had the chance to play in the Riverchasers Rocket Tournament at Borgata one week prior to the start of the US Shutdown. Who would have thought that the next major live event wouldn’t happen for 19 months? And now we anticipate that this October will potentially be the next World’s Largest Bar Poker Championship.
As we celebrate what we hope is to come, I just want to take a moment to look back on the past 2 years and think how much has changed for so many of our poker family, some tragically with the loss of family, business, and friends, but also some dramatically for the better. New babies have been brought into our network, members forced to find new ways to enjoy life outside of a social setting, advancing into new fields of employment and studies, while others benefited in their current lines of employment.
I look forward to the positivity, and excitement that is to come from our time in Vegas as we get to see each other once again. I can’t wait for the player party and the crowning of a new poker champion. But most of all, I look forward to the tournament registration. As odd as it sounds, seeing the joy, anticipation, excitement, and all of the smiles and butterflies before that first card is dealt is the reason that I am a Riverchaser. It’s the reason that I hope you are all Riverchasers. Some will win, some will not, but everyone who plays gets to walk through that archway and look at our incredible Final Table with that vision that in just a few days time they could be sitting there under the lights with all their friends and family watching.
And with that, I hope to see you at registration in Las Vegas, and at all the live Riverchasers Poker Tour events that we offer. More live events are coming as each month passes and as we rebuild we will be relaunching many of our special events and promotions.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s on a table full of CASH!
As the covid19 restrictions are being lifted in our area, we are working hard on communicating with our venues (current and new) to rebuild the live league schedule. While we are doing that, we are still running 100% online with the Bar Poker Open “Bar League PRO” membership league. Thank you to every one (player or not) who donated to this incredible cause. On May 22nd, we hosted the first Online Poker Tournament Fundraiser raising money for the “Team In Training” for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. Our group raised close to $1000 in our first event.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER - MARVIN COON - Owner of Pikes Peak Poker League (Colorado)
Marvin competed in the tournament as a league owner knowing that even if he won the tournament, he would be awarding the Grand Prize Package to a player in his league. So even though he won, all of Pikes Peak Poker League is the winner as they will have an opportunity to compete for this incredible package to the world’s largest social poker championship.
Congratulations to our runner up - Ron Dierkes (Horsham PA) who won the 2nd place prize, an entry into the upcoming $50,000 BPO Online National Championship.

The time for our combined 2020/2021 Championship is approaching. There is a LOT of information that we want to make sure is communicated to all our qualified players so please please please, it is of utmost importance that you read the full details on the Bar Poker Open Championship webpage.
The registration days and times for players who qualified in 2019/2020 are different for those who qualified in 2020/2021.
The starting date for your first flight are different depending on when you qualified.
Bar Poker Open Travel packages won thru BPO Online have very specific dates and details about the prize.

RIVERCHASERS HAMMER & ROCKET TOURNAMENTS
The future of these events are going to depend on our casino partners. We are excited to get back to hosting these incredible inter-league special events, but the timing of the Vegas Bar Poker Open Championship, and our other Riverchasers rescheduled events, may push the first special event off until 2022. If we can find the right date, and we can count on our incredible players to join us, then we will create this as soon as we possibly can!
FUTURE RIVERCHASERS CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS
In March 2020, just before the pandemic, Riverchasers had ended our PCT qualifying and our Satellite qualifying promotions. The PLAN, at the time, was to announce the new 2020 Riverchasers Championship event structures. Change was happening, and it was happening based on our player feedback. Then… the pandemic hit. So all changes were put on hold as we had no clue what the future was going to hold for live bar poker in the following weeks and months. And now… 15 months later… we are almost ready to announce the new Riverchasers Championship events and qualifying rules.
We had one goal in mind…. SIMPLIFY. At any given point, players were competing for at least 6 different promotions, on multiple leaderboards, with a variety of qualifying rules. It was a lot for us. It was a lot for our players.
We hope you enjoy the updates to the league as we focus on simplicity, while still awarding incredible prizes for our players.
Lastly… until we have rebuilt the live league, please also understand that championship prizes are going to reflect the current size of the live league. It should be apparent that we could not yet offer the same huge prizes running 10 events/week compared to when we were hosting 75 events/week. But don’t fret, we are building both the live league, and our potential prizes for you!

This is a BIG monthly announcement! We have a ton of information and special events for our players. Be sure to read all about it below!
We hope you and your families are being safe and enjoying this Spring weather. We are excited to announce a VERY special fundraiser event for our players in May as we are inching closer to a final date for the Bar Poker Open National Championships in Las Vegas, in the fall of 2021.
We are also working hard on identifying venues that are showing interest in bringing back a social poker event to their venues in all our previous areas. As you can imagine, while we still have restrictions on capacities in the venues they are a bit hesitant on dedicating a section to hosting a social poker event right now. We had a fantastic launch of our first Berks County game at the Alley Hole Bar & Grill last week with 3 tables and we know there are hundreds of players who are excited to get back to the bars and play poker with friends in all regions.
Lastly, it's time for some HUGE PRIZES again!
Bar Poker Open is hosting another $50,000 Online Championship. Players can use their current Championship Seats as entry OR you can buy into the event with your BPO Tokens. Pro players can also win their way into the Championship through our Satellites with just 1 BPO Token!

It is with great honor that we are hosting an online Poker Tournament Fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A good friend who is a former Riverchasers TD and a local Police Officer was chosen and earned a prestigious spot to race in the IRONMAN World Championships this year. He is also a Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor. Nationwide the LLS has chosen only 6 racers over the past 2 years to be a part of this group. We are excited and hope you can join us!
